This section deals with the history of the New Towns movement which took place in the latter half of the 1940s, with particular reference to Crawley. The two worksheet may be used in combniation as an reading exercise, or separately either for information, or for a research activity in the school library.
This first sheet gives brief details about how the New Towns came about.
The second sheet is a question sheet, asking children to find or recall information from the information sheet. If preferred, this sheet can be used separately as a research task or as homework.
